Thursday, August 26, 2010

yeah dude.. it has been a while.

I can't remember the last time I posted something. I'm sure it says the date, but I can't see it right now. It's sad to say that I have lost so much touch with Blogger. But, my life was thrown into full gear over this summer and I've been more busy then ever.

To start off, the start of the summer, my 18 year old Nephew came down from Chicago to move in with us. I suppose I underestimated the difficulty and all the change that would come with it. My brother moved out about 3 years ago, and I got use to being the only one in the house for a while. To add on to that, he decided to start a band here with a few friends.

I admit, for the first few weeks they were doing really well. I loved laying on the floor and listening to the instrumentals and dirty jokes for lyrics. I didn't even mind running out to grab pizza so they would have something to eat for the times they were here for way to long. But seeing as summer is beginning to end, so is the band. We'll see where it goes ~

As far as me personaly, I haven't been home much unless I'm babysitting, like now. For the past few weeks, I have been out till the wee hours of the morning, really just enjoying the city lights and good company. It's sad that everything closes kind of early and your last resort becomes a cherry slurpie from 7-eleven.. and you end up paying for 5 others. The other night a few of us went and watched the planes land, but we only stayed long enough to see three of them land, and then left for Alex's house just to have one of the larget battles of Blurr that I have ever seen.

I got to see Inception a few weeks ago, and I hate to be like everyone, but fuck, that movie was so damn amazing. I'm waiting to order a new poster and I plan on it being one from that movie. I also saw Scott Pilgrim last week or so? I got lucky cause Kenny paid for my ticket, but then I ended up paying for a large popcorn for everyone. So I'm not sure if it was luck at all? But I suppose 'even' would work. To be honest though, the movie wasn't really what I pictured. I enjoyed it, and thought it was funny, but some parts were kind of slow for me, and the first half just bounced around everyone. But, it was still alright.

At the moment, I'm looking into purchasing a 65' or 69' Mustang with hopefully a V8, but I'll settle with a V6. My parents aren't to shocked at my muscle car love, their just hoping that I won't be working on it all the time. I'll probably have to go out of state to get it though. Everyone in Las Vegas has them overpriced for a fixer-upper. =m =

So hopefully I'll keep back up with this more often. I have A LOT of pictures to put up, I just don;t know when I will. ~

5times harderr.

Im counting down the last few moments of my spring break. Okay, maybe not literal as in 'counting', but I am trying to soake them up by cramming in some final hours of TV and surfing the inter-webs for.. unknown things at the moment. To be honest; Iv'e so busy over Spring Break that it's actually nice to just sit back and watch a sweet marathon of Boondock Saints, Pulp Fiction and Space Odyssey. In that order. Mind you, Boondock Saints is my absolute favorite movie, second one, not so much. Anywho, Spring Break.

My sister came down from Chicago and spet about 4 days with us in Vegas. Which caused us to 'almost' go sky diving, do three races of go carts, try out ironman at laser quest, and soak up some sun with my dog Max. Though, the day before she came out here, I went down to Arizona with Andrew to see Paul McCartney. 3/28 was most the mot craziest day out of the week. From waking up at 8AM to get ready to take a 5 hour drive, to waiting 2 hours in traffic and not getting back home till 5AM the next morning. The drive consisted of one stop for taco bell, and multiple CDs' of The Clash, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Transplants, and oddly enough - Jay-Z. Oh yes, and the longest conversation of Soul Silver. [/ god damn pokemon. ]

Our seats were right above where he walked out and entered the stage. I practically shit my pants in anticipation when the lights went down and the crowd began to scream. He dedicated a song to Lennon and Harris, completely ignoring Ringo. Played a few Wings songs, though skipped on and off with The Beatles. Lighted off some fireworks, almost blowing the guitar players from their spots, confettied the well paying people, broke a neck on a guitar, had 2 encores, and played his heart out. To be quite honest, you truly couldn;t ask for anymore. His performance was an unforgettable one.

The rest of my Spring Break consisted a lot with Las Vegas. Showing my sister around since she hadn't been here for about three years, and playing a game of Scrabble which made me feel like a total idiot. Hate Scrabble. Other then that though, today is Easter.

We had a huge lunch/dinner thing we family and friends at the house. Which really dwelled in my brother and I hogging the trampoling as he tried to bounce me off, watching Max nose dive into the pool after small kids who he apparently thought needed to be rescued, and my dad almost burn off his mustache on the bbq. great times guys ~

happy eeeeastaaa suckaaaas.

Picture dump part one.

Thursday, February 25, 2010

hello reality..

Another piece has gently been placed into my puzzle. This time it wasn't hammered down, shoved in the wrong place, or crammed in. Instead, it was nicely placed; it took time, process and thought as they placed it into my simple little life. It was jut a weekend piece, but it was bliss. It was a non-stop, perfectly un-perfect section of the universe that I never ever wanted to leave. And yet here I am, plopped back down in 'Viva Vegas.' I miss Phoenix and it's secret wonders. I miss it's nothings and yet everythings. It makes me smile, and it makes me laugh, it's the perfect definition of 'Ah-Kuna-Ma-Tata.'

The other day someone told me, "After looking at everything.. you must have a really fun life huh?" I thought about it for a while. I had to look back on a lot of moments. But then I realized, they're not really moments. It's just the energy of the people I keep around me. It's not always big ass smiles and tears pouring out from laughter. But at least 2/3 times when I think about the past, I see myself laughing with everyone. Whether it be with J, conversing about Cars, Pokemon, and Guys. Making skits with Dillon in the middle of class because sometimes we have nothing better to do. Listening to Bryce talk about things that most people haven't ever heard of yet. Playing video games with Zack because then we have something in common. Making Silent Hill Cookies with Brina and Lina because we beat Homecoming in one night. Talking about Ninja Turtles with Andrew since he can randomly bring it up in about any conversation. Or just hanging around Sadey because most of the time, I'm laughing my ass off. I guess I miss Phoenix a lot.. but, I do with what I have right here in my little hometown. And who I have here, I wouldn't change for the world.

Day 35/2010

I suck at titles lately, so who honestly cares. The date might be wrong on this post because I was going to do it a while back, but ended up skipping out. So it's been a while since Iv'e talked about anything. Sadly, I have a terrible memory and can not remember what has gone in the past one or two weeks. But I'll try.
The other night I went to this steakhouse that was for my dad's buisness meeting. I felt awkward when there were 4 different people coming to the table to only serve 8 of us. They kept asking me if I wanted this, or that. In the end, it was way worth it. I took some pictures at school of everyone, I have yet to even get them off my camera though. My cellphone is starting to become the papa of keychains again and I might have finally found a guy c:

I found out Lina keeps the My Little Ponies I gave her a while back on her bathroom counter. Yay~ I feel special. I'll probably get her some more for the hell of it, and because I owe her one for drawing me up a SkywarpxCracker pic. Which I still have yet to see since it's been just about FOUR months since the last time I've seen her and Brina. I swear, she still has yet to see my hair as a freking bob.

Ah yes, I saw Legion. I found it intereting, maybe 30 or 40% of the movie. Sure, the kept up with Gabriel, the angel who ended up going to hell. But everything else was kind of like, "WUUUT?" I'm sure there were a few relidios people out there who got all angry for who know's what reason. I also watched Paranormal Activity for the second time and ended up almot falling asleep through it. I found out it had an alternate ending which made me angry. Who could believe this stuff?

I finally get to go back to Phoenix on the 18th. I've been dying for a quick road trip to somewhere that I've been 10 jillion times. But it's always fun once I get up there. And, I'm getting a big surprise out of it apparently~

Ladies and Gentlemen, Cole.

So, what do you call a seventeen year old guy who's a native Texan, a Junior in high school, an incredible graphic designer and enjoys a good game of Modern Warfare? You call him, Cole.
To my surprise, which might have not been to much of a surprise, he was an easy guy to talk to. At first I was thinking, "This guy knows his stuff, I'm a waste of his time." But oh no, he was more then pleased to speak with me. A small town kind of guy, with the joy of reading, writing, and designing. Multi-talented I'd say. So it surprised me when he told me that where he comes from isn't all that artsy. Well then where does he get his inspiration from?
Cole tells me, " I get most of my inspiration from just day to day life, as hypocritical as that might sound. I'd have to list my main sources as my friends, photos, nature, folk music, and the books I read. I get really inspired to create on rainy days, and when I'm listening to some really good folk music. As for my typographic inspiration it mainly comes from just my passion for writing really. " Once again, a little shocked; here Im thinking he's about to name some great artisit, when really he just finds it in his normal life. Which I found to be fantastic. And could you believe that he started all of this in just the Seventh Grade?
" I started graphic design around 7th or 8th grade actually because of Gaia. I tinkered with profiles and soon I began to love it, so really it's all gaia's fault that I love design. However writing has always just been a passion of mine, I just started getting really into it around my junior-high/high school year.. "

Plus, I had no idea he was a writer. Cole usually pushes forward his vector art, more then his writing to the public. But at least we had one thing in common, bookcases.
" Oh I love to read, and write, I do both rather frequently. I actually have a dream of filling up one of those wall-to-wall bookcases with books I've read. My favorite writers by far are: Orwell, Hemmingway, Palahinuk, and Kensey, perhaps maybe even Kerouac too. " Ah yes, who doesn't want to have a wall-to-wall bookcase? And if you don't, you should. But let's go back to the music, Folk? Who would have thought?
Yet, I guess I misunderstood because a few of the people he named, I listened to. I thought; bring out the banjo and a couple of tin cans. WRONG IDEA. He made me laugh and says, " My most played list would fall somewhere in this order: Bob Dylan, Langhorne Slim, Fleet foxes, Beatles, Fionn Regan, MV & EE, and Iron & Wine, with some other bands sprinkled into the mix. " What a casual guy right?
From there on, I asked him about a phrase that he had used on a paragraph about himself. Cole employs that, " Im a headstrong rebel without a cause." I myself am eh, considerably rebel; so I had to ask him just what he meant by it. He had a great answer.
" Most of that is sarcastic, It's almost as if I feel I'm not a rebel. But to some extents I think I am as well. I'm not exactly the social norm really. I'm one of those kids that likes to learn new stuff, enjoys writing, enjoys reading, and enjoys thinking of new ideas and what not; something all too-uncommon in my day-to-day life. I'd almost say I'm a rebel because I'm not fitting the standardization of a "rebel" I'm not all fuck the establishment and down with school, I'm more the opposite of that, "The establishment can be good", and "School is needed". I don't know, I guess I just see myself as someone who's actually looking for change rather than just preaching it. "
So I thought about such an answer as I sat there in awe, and ate some blueberries.

Now for Cole, It's simple; take something that people might see as weird, and turn it into something people like. It's just what he does. Let's look at one of my favorites, 'Shutter Bug.' Think of it without a little Cole flair. Eh, not that great right? Weird? Now place the sheet of Cole back on and hey, it's interesting. It's cute, it's fun. Who would have thought right? Where and how does he get the idea?
" Actually I love telling that story, because it always makes people shocked. Truth be told when I made shutter bug, I was just looking for something to fill in the gaps on one of my designs. I needed a header design for the flicker section, and my design was centered around colors so I just started making some random dude. Half way through however I figured out I liked it and just continued on. "
Now how does he do it?
" Honestly there's nothing too hard about it, truthfully I don't plan alot of my designs out, I just kind of do what I think looks right, what comes natural, and make a lot of changes throughout ya know? "
Is some of it accidental? It seems 'Shutter Bug' was, but that's the great thing about it. Cole doesn't stick to the rules, and his ways arre definetly his own. So to end this funny interview, I asked him a few questions, one that he favorited.

Favorite Video game: Um Final Fantasy 12 was pretty kick ass, um right now MW2.
Phrase: umm; lover, creator, easy going person...Is that a phrase?
Favorite color: Either pink or blue, I use them a lot in my designs.
Favorite food: Spaghetti for sure.
Best character on Sesame Street: I'm gonna start off by saying I love this question because I absolutely freaking love puppets. The grouch or Cookie monster
Pacman or digdug : Pacman because I've never played digdug ;3;
Thanks Cole c:
One of the best people I have ever interevied.
I need to have this guy make me something..

Time Hits Hard

When I was younger, I never paid attention, or gave any thought to time. As a matter of fact, I was more focused on how slow things were going. Especially when I wanted to do something. Yet, I quickly found out that time is a Mofo and ends up getting you back. CSN has me crammed with work, like literally, my room probably has a small forest of papers in it. It's a little sad.. poor trees D:
Anywho, my birthday was intereting. My brother took me out with everyone for most of it . We went to BJ's Pub and grabbed some pizza & chilli cheese fries which I didn't eat much considering the fact I was trying to get pictures before everyone started eating. Didn't work to my advantage like I had planned so I ended up just forgetting the dilema. But they did make me laugh when they got up and started fist pumping out of nowhere. I got a teeny Yoshi backpack which now travels just about everywhere with me, carrying my Diana F+ & Fisheye. ... That's about all that fits in him. I was also tricked into thinking I got a Too-dee from Yo Gabba Gabba. Sadly, I was mistaken and IT WAS A TRAP. Maybe not so much that way, but it's an unnecessary story. We all played about 3 hours total of this game called, 'The Impossible Game.' Best thing ever. I wish I had videos. AH! I was finally able to download Bioshock 1 & 2 for my laptop since I got rid of my PS3. Angels came down and sang when I finally got to play that game again. Now I just have to wait till 2 ACTUALLY comes out, then I will actually have. For now, it's just paid for. What else has gone on? Jeffrey got a boyfriend? His name's Kohlby, nice kid. He's quite ridiculous sometimes on the things he says or what he talkes about, but he's adorable and has his own way of just being himself.
For me though, I'm kind of starting a new page I guess. This year I'm starting clean, and changing a few bad habits. & Probably change my title to 'Nebula Nine Photography.' On a side note, I'm almost finished with my interview with Cole & Simon Royale. Yaaay~
Oh yeah, and I give no permisson what so ever for people to use my pictures? Im suppose to say that. Just ask me c:

It's been raining a ton here, but it's quite nice. I love it. Even though a few streets are actually flooded out. It's the most rain we have gotten in a while though. Also lately, Iv'e been obsessed with little paper coffee cups? I'll probably end up having some huge picture dump of all the ones I like from different places. They're quite cute once you realize the potential they have.

I should finish this off with a nice picture, but I'll I have to give you is Adam and some awesome look on his face that made me laugh really hard. Thanks Adam!

Forgot About These

I'm really surprised I forgot about my Air Show '09 pictures from Vegas. So sorry about the insanely late posting of them. Since I think the air show was around three months ago? Though, I didn't have a blog three months ago. Either way, I'm putting them up now.

Photobucket

I can't say much about what I remember about the air show. Although my dad wanted to buy a Helicopter, there were way to many people to even explain, the bus rides sucked, and I enjoyed myself the entire day. Especially when I got to buy my teeny bomber plane.

Photobucket
Photobucket

I took a double exposure by accident with my film camera. I meant to wind it and then freaked out while my dad's hat flew off onto the run way as the show was going.

Photobucket

It's funny cause this post was originally suppose to be, "Because Lina Told Me too." And I was going to post the 15 songs I recently listened to, but I found my pictures. So, here's some jets instead.
So after a whole four days of being gone, Iv'e gone bowling twice and hit up chuck-e-cheese once. I wasn't to surprised with the bowling, I stink. Matt was surprisingly good, little did I know he had bowled for 3 years. Giovanni sucked, surprised almost everyone, Mike got angry cause Matt beat everyone. And Leandra was apparently beastly. Yet, the highlight of the entire thing was when John went to up to bowl and ended up throwing it into the old man's lane right next to us. We laughed at first until the old man looked like he was going to cry. John quickly apologized and some worker picked up the ball. Though, as soon as John got it back, he ended up dropping it. Chuck-E-Cheese was yummy. We had pizza and played around 15 games of skeeball. It's hard, and yet another thing Im terrible at.

PS: I'll have Chuck-E-Cheese pictures later c:

The Lomo LC-A+

Photobucket

I want it, I want it so bad. Im drooling for this camera.
The Lomo LC-A+ is literally in my dreams. Well not that it's
impossible to get, but I'm dreaming about it at night. Besides a Canon, besides a Nikon, the LC-A+ is the camera to get people. Yes, it's about $250; give or take. Yet it's a measly price for the results this bad boy gives you. I would give you some examples, but it's almost wrong to have to choose which ones to put up.
Well now I officially have no idea what I'm going to ask Jeffrey for my Birthday now. He owes me for handing over my prisma markers to him. And also buying him lunch before he jumped on his plane back home. I should tell him to split the LC-A with Lonan. But he'd probably laugh in my face and say, "NO WOMAN." But he was originally going to get me a colosplash that I asked him for. Now I'm going to have to go crawl back to him and beg for mercy. But let's look at the bright side; I used my own money to buy a ringflash that I probably would have boiled a poor little lobster for. Yeah, that's really harsh for me. But it's the best way of saying, "Good money spent." And after making a small blurb about how great the LC-A+ is, I'll have to chat about the Zenit E at some point since it takes a new range on SLR. If anything, it's like a cooler version of the old Nikon AE-1. Which, in my eyes, was a neto-camera.
So for now, we'll just leave it as is with the LC-A+ topping the charts as #1 for 35mm camera.
PS: I went bowling today c:

HELLO 2010

I guess I have to settle this once and for all. And yes, I finally have a blog. Though who knows how this will turn out, where it will go, and who will even read it. I'm a little shocked that I'm even putting one out there. Maybe it cause of the small feeling that, "Hey, I can state my opinion and put a small piece of my world out there." Hurm.

So starting with a new life in 2010, it's an ordinary Sunday night. Christmas, great. New Years, Fun. Did I mention we saw Blue Man Group and got drowned it what seemed to be amazingly hard toilet paper but what was really tons & tons & tons ... and tons of recycled paper? Yeah, totally awesome. The we hit up The Strip in a town that never sleeps. I mean literally, never sleeps. Ah, and I screamed at a lady who stuck her leg out at me while driving past in a limo. I swear, you can not leave Vegas without some weird memories.

Photobucket

I guess I'm going backwards by mentioning New Years first, but whatever. Stepping back, I got a new Lomo Camera. I've been having fun with it. Turning the winder and blinding people with the insanely bright flash. My little Dachsund, Max, is evern afraid of it. Ah! And I got my fisheye camera! Max is my number one model for that awesome thing. On the other note, we met-up with the family once again for the Holidays. It's quickly turning into a tradition to 'surprise' them, even though it's so hard for me to keep my mouth shut. But it was nice.

Photobucket
And not to be mistaken, that's my cousin Jeffrey.
But my birthday is in about a week and a half. ... Something like that. Let's just say the 16th of this month. I'm crossing my fingers for a Multi-Color Holga, and some legos.
For now though, here's a few bluuuuurry pictures from New Years.

Photobucket
Photobucket

I have a ton more, but those will have to wait to be developed. c:
